David's Hanger

Strap yourself into the cockpit and enjoy a ride in one of my RC airplanes. When I am not working I enjoy building and flying Radio Control Airplanes. I have been active in the hobby off and on for 20 years. The following pictures are some of my favorite planes, and some that I am currently building.

42% Giles G202 from the Pirate models kit, 3W 140 engine, JR Radio, painted finish, Awesome aerobatic performance.

Jets

April 2000 I finally broke down and bought my dream plane. I placed a call to BVM and ordered a balsa Bandit. The plane took me 4 1/2 months to build and it flies better than I expected. Here are a couple of pictures of it while I was building it, and the finished product to date I have 29 flights on it.

Before paint and fiberglass, Jets are UGLY babies! And after 6 different colors of paint, WOW what a difference! Powered by a JetCat P-120 this Bandit will really boogie!

Wing construction moves along quickly this is about 2 hours worth of work. This picture is from a balsa Bandit that I framed for a friend of mine.

Additional Bandit pictures.

My latest jet project is one of my favorite scale airplanes. It is a BVM F-4 Phantom.

The Phantom is in the UGLY baby stage right now. On the left I am puttying the hatches, and joint areas on the fuselage. On the right is the first shot of it standing on the landing gear. It will powered by a JetCat P-160 and will be painted in a South East Asia Camouflage color scheme. It will be fully "decked out" combat ready with wing, and centerline fuel tanks, missiles, and other ordinance.
